Nancy Radakovitz 34 -year Rotary Member

Why I joined Rotary: Rotary was a club my husband joined in 1984, and I loved what they did, and I thought it would be something I would enjoy. But I didn't join my husband's club in 1989, as that was the time before women could join a men's club, and my husband's club was not terribly open to the idea of women members.

Why I stay in Rotary: I have stayed in Rotary for 34 years, because it is like having an extended family. The projects we do are worthwhile and rewarding.  I also get to meet new and interesting guest speakers; who's varied topics provide a wealth of information.

How I find meaning within the Club: Like I said- the members are like family, so if someone needs help someone is there for help in any way. Also, getting to work in different areas within the Auburn community is something that keeps us coming back for more and new ways to support our beloved area and community.

Celebrating Rotarian Nancy Radakovitz
Auburn Gold Country Rotary is proud to honor Nancy Radakovitz, a devoted Rotarian whose 34 years of service have left an indelible mark on our club and community. As the first woman to join our club, Nancy helped open doors and set a standard of leadership, energy, and generosity that continues to inspire.

Nancy is truly full of life—the kind of member whose enthusiasm lifts every project and every meeting. As our Club Secretary, she keeps us organized, informed, and moving forward with grace and good humor. In addition, as Co-Chair of Events, she helps shape the heart of our club’s fellowship and outreach, ensuring each gathering is meaningful, welcoming, and memorable.

Her contributions to our Oktoberfest fundraising team are nothing short of invaluable. Nancy is one of the steady hands and bright spirits behind the scenes, helping coordinate details, support the team, and make this critical fundraiser a standout success year after year.

Nancy’s decades of dedication, trailblazing spirit, and unwavering service exemplify the very best of Rotary. We are deeply grateful for her legacy—and for the joy and leadership she continues to bring to Auburn Gold Country Rotary.
